Procedure for Puja and Aarti

Pay special attention to the timing of the puja and aarti to ensure that the rituals are performed correctly and with full devotion. On Ganesh Chaturthi, the puja is ideally performed in the morning, and the aarti is done after the puja. However, you can adjust the timing according to your family’s convenience.

Timing and Method of Puja:

On Ganesh Chaturthi, the puja of Lord Ganesh is performed specifically in the morning. The morning time is considered the most auspicious.

Wake up early in the morning, bathe, and put on clean clothes. Then, begin the puja of Lord Ganesh.

Clean the Ganesh idol with pure water to sanctify it. Place rice (akshat) and flowers in front of the idol.
Fill a kalash (pot) with water and light a lamp around it.
Apply chandan (sandalwood) and kumkum (vermilion) on Ganesh Ji’s forehead.
