Airports Authority of India

Airports Authority of India" (AAI) is a government agency responsible for the management, development, and maintenance of civil aviation infrastructure in India. As a crucial body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the AAI plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and orderly flow of air traffic, as well as the development and expansion of airport facilities across the country.

Established in 1995, the AAI's primary objective is to create, upgrade, and maintain civil aviation infrastructure, including airports, air traffic management, communication, navigation, and surveillance systems. This comprehensive approach ensures the smooth functioning of India's civil aviation sector, contributing significantly to the nation's economic growth and connectivity.

The AAI oversees the operations of more than a hundred airports and civil enclaves across India, ranging from major international airports to smaller regional ones. Its responsibilities encompass air traffic control, air navigation services, airport operations, and aviation safety measures. By maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency, the AAI facilitates both domestic and international air travel, supporting tourism, trade, and other sectors of the economy.
