Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission

Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission" (UPSRLM) is an initiative by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable livelihoods in the rural areas of the state. Established in 2011, UPSRLM operates under the aegis of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), a flagship program of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.

The primary goal of UPSRLM is to enhance the economic status of rural households by empowering them through capacity building, skill development, access to credit, and the establishment of self-help groups (SHGs) and their federations. The mission aims to create an enabling environment for the rural poor, particularly women, to improve their income-generating activities and overall quality of life.

UPSRLM focuses on implementing social mobilization and community-driven development approaches to uplift marginalized communities. It encourages the formation of community-based institutions and provides them with the necessary resources, technical support, and training to undertake various livelihood initiatives. This includes activities like agriculture, animal husbandry, non-farm activities, and micro-enterprises.

Through its programs, UPSRLM seeks to strengthen the self-reliance of rural households by facilitating their access to financial services, markets, and government schemes. It emphasizes the principles of self-help, mutual cooperation, and participatory decision-making to foster sustainable change at the grassroots level.
