Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released the notification for Maharashtra Group B (Non-Gazetted) Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2024 (Advt. No. 048/2024) and Group C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2024 (Advt. No. 049/2024). Selection Process for MPSC Group B, C Recruitment 2024

The MPSC Rajyaseva selection process consists of three stages. Candidates who pass the first stage move on to the second stage, and so on. To be eligible for a position in any department in Maharashtra, candidates must successfully navigate each stage of the exams. With this guide, you can effectively complete your MPSC syllabus.

MPSC Prelims Exam;

The preliminary exam is the first stage of the MPSC Rajyaseva recruitment process, acting as a screening test. It consists of written exams covering general studies and aptitude. The preliminary exam is divided into Paper I and Paper II, with a total of 400 marks.

  • This stage of the exam has negative marking (not applicable for Q74-Q80, Decision Making in Paper 2).
  • The marks obtained in the prelims are not counted for the final merit list.
  • Both papers carry 200 marks each, with Paper 1 containing 100 questions and Paper 2 containing 80 questions.

MPSC Mains Exam:

The second stage is the MPSC Rajyaseva mains exam, which assesses candidates' understanding of human resource development, geography, and politics. The mains exam includes Papers I, II, III, IV, V, and VI.

  • There are two qualifying language papers in English and Hindi.
  • The papers considered for merit include one essay paper, four general studies papers, and two optional papers.
  • The maximum score from these papers that counts towards the final merit list is 1750.
  • The question papers will be set in both Marathi and English languages.
  • Candidates can select the medium of the exam.

Exam Pattern for MPSC Group B, C Recruitment 2024

The MPSC recruitment process for 2024 consists of two main examinations: a Preliminary Examination, which includes two papers serving as a qualifying round, followed by a Main Examination consisting of six papers. Notably, unlike previous years, optional subjects are not included in this year's examination criteria.
