Important Information About SSC JHT Recruitment 2024

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the release of notification for SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT), Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator Exam 2024, in which around 312 vacancies are available. However, the exact number of vacancies will be determined in due course. The online application process for this recruitment has started from 2nd August 2024, and candidates can apply online till 27th August 2024. The exam for this recruitment will be conducted in October or November. Application Fee

Candidates applying for the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Hindi Translator Exam (CHTE) 2024 will have to pay an application fee. The application fee for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates has been fixed at Rs.100/-, while no fee will be charged from SC, ST, and PWD category candidates. Candidates have to deposit their examination fee by 27 August 2024 only through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, and other payment methods.

Age Limit (as of August 1, 2024)

Candidates applying for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Hindi Translator Exam (CHTE) 2024 should have a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 30 years. The age of the candidates will be calculated as on 1st August 2024, and age relaxation will also be given to the candidates as per government rules.

1. For post codes 'A' to 'C' (Junior Hindi Translator/Junior Translation Officer/Junior Translator):

• Master's degree from a recognized university in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination;

• or Master's degree from a recognized university in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination;

• or Master's degree from a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination;

• or Master's degree from a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination;

• or Master's degree from a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with both Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject;

• and a recognized diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa or two years of translation experience from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government office, including Government of India Undertakings.

Indicative Syllabus for SSC CHTE 2024

1. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination): The questions will be designed to test the candidates' understanding of languages and literature, the correct use of words, phrases, and idioms, and their ability to write the languages accurately, precisely, and effectively. The questions will be at the degree level.

2. Paper-II (Translation and Essay): This paper will consist of two passages for translation—one passage from Hindi to English and one passage from English to Hindi—and an essay in both Hindi and English. This will assess the candidates' translation skills as well as their ability to write and comprehend both languages accurately, precisely, and effectively. The level of the paper will align with the prescribed educational qualifications.
