Important Information for SSC Stenographer Recruitment
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification of Stenographer Grade 'C' and 'D' Exam 2024. Through this examination, 2006 posts have been announced for Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B', Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C') in various Ministries, Departments, Organizations and their attached offices, subordinate offices, and various States and Union Territories under the Government of India. The online application process for this has started from 26th July 2024 and candidates can apply till 24th August 2024. Application Fee
Candidates applying for SSC Stenographer 2024 have to pay the application fee. The application fee for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates is ₹100/- while female candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) from reserved category are exempted from the fee. Candidates can pay the examination fee only online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay debit cards till 18.08.2024 (11:00 PM).

Age Limit and Relaxation
Candidates applying for SSC Stenographer 2024 should have a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 30 years. For Grade D, the maximum age of the candidates should be up to 27 years. The age of the candidates will be calculated as on 1st August 2024, and there will be relaxation in the upper age limit.

Educational Qualification
The minimum qualification to apply for SSC Stenographer 2024 is that the candidate must have passed Intermediate (12th grade) from a recognized board or completed an equivalent course. Additionally, applicants must possess stenography skills from recognized institutions. Candidates are required to pass the 12th grade or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university by 17.08.2024. Detailed information regarding educational qualifications will be available after the notification is released.
Exam Pattern
The CBT exam will consist of 200 objective-type questions (50 from General Intelligence & Reasoning, 50 from General Awareness, and 100 from English Language & Comprehension). Candidates will have 2 hours to complete the exam. Each question will carry one mark, and for each wrong answer, one-third of the marks will be deducted. After clearing the CBT, candidates will have to appear for a stenography skill test at regional offices, where they will demonstrate their skills with 10 minutes of dictation in Hindi or English.

Selection Process
- Based on the marks scored in the Computer-Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for the Skill Test.
- The Skill Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the Skill Test will be considered for final selection based on their merit in the Computer-Based Examination.
