Target of PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme:-
Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme aims to provide free electricity to households in India, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2024. Under this scheme, up to 40% of the cost of solar panels will be subsidized. Through Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 300 units of electricity will be provided free of cost every month, benefiting 1 crore households. Under this scheme, these households will save Rs 15,000 crore annually, and they will be able to earn good income by selling their excess power. The scheme will improve charging facilities for electric vehicles, ease agricultural operations through supply and installation of solar panels, and provide opportunities for more vendors to become entrepreneurs. Also, there will be more employment opportunities for all youth with technical skills in manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of solar panels.

The benefits of the scheme include:-

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana Eligibility :-
- Indian citizenship is necessary to avail the benefits of this scheme.
- In this scheme, priority will be given to the youth of middle class and poor class.
- The minimum age of the beneficiaries of this scheme should be more than 18 years.
- To avail the benefits of the scheme, the candidate must have a bank account and Aadhar card.
- Candidates from all categories are likely to benefit from this scheme.
- The candidate must have a house that has a suitable roof to install solar panels.
- The candidate must have valid electricity connection at home.
- The candidate should not be availing the benefit of any other subsidy.
