About Rajasthan Chief Minister Kanyadan Scheme:-

Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana is a government initiative for poor families whose main objective is to provide assistance in the marriage of their daughters. This scheme is for those families who are financially weak or who cannot afford the marriage expenses of their daughters.

Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance for the daughter's marriage, in which the family gets a certain amount for the wedding expenses. This support is very important for those poor families who cannot afford the marriage expenses of their daughters themselves and who come under BPL or who do not have any income member.

To apply, applicants have to visit the nearest District Social Welfare Office, where certain eligibility criteria are checked. Through this scheme, the government provides poor families a chance to perform their daughters' marriage with dignity and helps in strengthening their social and economic status. Daughters of BPL families, Anyodaya families, Aastha cardholder families, economically weaker widows, specially abled persons, foster parents are given Rs. 21,000/- for marriage if they are above 18 years of age, also, an additional Rs. 10,000/- if they are 10th standard pass, and an additional Rs. 20,000/- if they are graduates.

Families getting the benefit of Kanyadan Yojana:-

1. Below Poverty Line (BPL) Families - Families who are living below the poverty line and have a BPL card can get the benefit of this scheme.

2. Economically Weaker Families - Families whose annual income is less than the limit set by the state government and who are unable to bear the expenses of the marriage of their daughters will get the benefit of this scheme.

3. Widow/Orphan Daughters - Those families will get the benefit in which there is no earning member of the age of 25 years or above, daughters who do not have a father or are orphans. Also, women whose husband has died and who have not remarried, and whose annual income does not exceed  Rs. 50,000/- are eligible for this scheme.

Under the Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana of Rajasthan, assistance will be provided in the marriage of daughters of economically weaker families according to various categories. The details of the amount of benefit under this scheme are given according to the following categories-

Financial assistance - Financial assistance is provided for the marriage of daughters under various categories.

Dignified marriage - By getting financial assistance, poor families can honorably complete the marriage of their daughters.

Equality in society - This scheme promotes economic equality and harmony in the society.

Reduction in dowry system - With financial assistance, the demand for dowry can be reduced, which helps in stopping the dowry system.

Education incentive - More incentive amount for daughters getting higher education, which motivates daughters for education.

Documents or certificates required for Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana:-

  • Janadhaar card of the applicant
  • Applicant's domicile certificate, birth certificate, bank account details
  • BPL card or other poverty certificate, Aastha card
  • Pension payment order for the benefit of economically weaker widow women, death certificate, income certificate, hardening letter for not having a son regarding age
  • Special ability certificate, economic descent certificate, income certificate
  • Certificate of being a beneficiary of Palanhar Yojana
  • Certificate of winning state level sports or school level medal, income certificate
  • Marriage registration certificate of girl child
  • Birth certificate of girl child

Eligibility Criteria of Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana:-

1. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided on the marriage of daughters of BPL families of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Minority category.

2. Financial assistance will also be provided on the marriage of daughters of BPL families of remaining categories, Anyodaya family, Aastha cardholder family, economically weaker widow women, specially abled persons, beneficiaries of Palanhar Yojana, and sportspersons who marry themselves.

3. This assistance will be given only to the native residents of the state of Rajasthan.

4. The age of the applicant should be 18 years or above and this assistance will be available only when any two girl children in his family get married.

5. The following standards will be followed for the marriage of daughters of economically weaker widowed women:

  • Woman whose husband has died and has not remarried.
  • The annual income of the widow should not exceed Rs 50,000/-.
  • There should be no financial support of 25 years and above in the family.

How to apply

  1. Process to Apply

    1. First of all, go to the Rajasthan SSO portal and register. (If you are already registered, skip this step)

    2. Login to the SSO portal using the login ID and password received after registration.

    3. After logging in, select SJMS (Social Justice Management System) from the services available on the portal.

    4. After selecting SJMS, click on “New Application Form”.

    5. Fill all your personal information correctly in the application form.

    6. After filling all the required information, submit the application form.

    7. After the application form is submitted, it will be verified by the concerned officer.

    8. After the verification is complete, the application form will be sent to the concerned officer for approval.

    9. After the application form is approved, the amount will be transferred to the applicant’s bank account regularly.
