Eastern Railway Apprentice Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the apprentice training program in Eastern Railway will follow a systematic and merit-based process. Below is a detailed breakdown of the selection procedure:

1. Merit-Based Selection

Candidates will be selected based on a merit list prepared from the details provided in the online application form. It is essential that all candidates fill out accurate information, as discrepancies may lead to the cancellation of their application by the Railway Administration.

2. Criteria for Merit Calculation

The selection process for Document Verification (DV) will be based on the average of marks obtained in Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination. Equal weightage will be given to both sets of marks.

For example, if a candidate secures 80.58% in Matriculation and 91.68% in ITI, the average marks will be: 80.58+91.682=86.13 \frac{80.58 + 91.68}{2} = 86.13280.58+91.68=86.13

3. Resolving Tie Cases

In the event of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate who is older in age will be given preference. If the dates of birth are identical, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be considered first.

4. Shortlisting for Document Verification (DV)

Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification in a 1:1.5 ratio of the notified training slots to account for absenteeism or rejection. The merit list will be prepared trade-wise, unit-wise, and community-wise.

5. DV Eligible Candidate Placement

Candidates will be placed against a single trade in one unit based on their merit. Once slotted, the candidate is no longer considered for any other trade or unit.

For the remaining candidates, i.e., the 0.5 out of the 1:1.5 ratio, they will be given an opportunity to appear for DV in different units as per their preference, provided vacancies in those units remain after the placement of the top-ranked candidates.

6. Final Selection

The final selection for apprentice training will be done after the DV process, subject to the candidate fulfilling all prescribed railway rules, including medical fitness and verification of credentials.

7. Single Unit Allotment

Each candidate will be selected for training in only one unit of Eastern Railway based on their merit and the availability of slots in their chosen trade.

8. Final Decision

In case of any disputes during the selection process, the decision made by the Railway Administration will be considered final.

This transparent and merit-based approach ensures fairness in the selection of apprentices for Eastern Railway.

Reasons for Application Rejection: Eastern Railway Apprentice Recruitment

Applicants for the Eastern Railway Apprentice Recruitment must ensure that their application forms are correctly filled out and submitted in the prescribed manner. The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) has laid out specific guidelines, and any deviation from these may result in the rejection of the application. Below are the primary reasons why applications may be considered invalid:

1. Incorrect Signature Format

If the candidate's signature is submitted in block or capital letters, the application will be rejected. The signature must be in the proper format as specified in the application guidelines.

2. Missing Left Thumb Impression (LTI) or Signature

Applications missing either the Left Thumb Impression (LTI) or the candidate's signature at the designated place on the form will be summarily rejected.

3. Smudged or Blurred Left Thumb Impression

Candidates must ensure that their LTI is clear and properly affixed. Smudged or blurred LTIs will result in the application being marked as invalid.

4. Failure to Upload Caste or Other Required Certificates

The non-uploading of necessary certificates, including the caste certificate and other documents issued by the appropriate authorities, will lead to disqualification. All certificates must be in the correct format and uploaded as required.

5. Non-Payment of Fees

Where applicable, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee. Failure to do so will result in the application being rejected.

6. Inadequate Educational or Technical Qualifications

Applicants who do not possess the required educational or technical qualifications as specified in the recruitment notification will be ineligible for consideration.

7. Multiple Applications by the Same Candidate

If a candidate submits more than one application, all their applications will be rejected. Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application.

8. Applications Submitted via Offline Modes

Applications submitted through any means other than the online application portal will not be accepted. Only applications submitted through the prescribed online mode will be considered valid.

9. Other Irregularities

Any other discrepancies or irregularities in the application, as deemed invalid by the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), will lead to rejection. This list of deficiencies is illustrative but not exhaustive. Any other errors discovered by RRC at any stage of the process may result in disqualification.

Note:

Candidates must carefully follow the application guidelines to avoid any mistakes. It is important to review the application thoroughly before submitting it, as the Railway Recruitment Cell reserves the right to reject applications if any errors or irregularities are identified at any point during the selection process.

Adhering to these requirements will ensure that candidates avoid rejection and successfully participate in the Eastern Railway Apprentice Recruitment process.
